The Blogosphere re-visited
Well, I wish I had some exciting reason for not updating my blog over the last three months . . . but I have no excuses. I've been bumming around WI for the last five weeks, neglecting my lovers.
Heres the quick update of the last three months:
I cycled the southern half of the South Island after getting off the ice. The route from CHC to Dunedin was uneventful, unspectacular, wet, and chilly (sorry, folks, I'm a spoiled brat). The southern tip of the south island was nice, with a gorgeous cruise through the Catlins. Once I reached the Fjordlands and the west coast, I was re-introduced to my love affair with New Zealand. I drooled, I cried, I sweated, I laughed - all my favorite things.
And, the big news, that I have so excitedly already professed to so many of you: I fell in love in Hari Hari, at the wildside backpackers, with a German girl named Marie. We spent two weeks together, and then I flew back to States. Bonehead move. Now we're floating in the ether, an ocean and a language apart. I'll let you know when I decide what the hell to do about this one!
So that's that. I fell in love with New Zealand, for the second time. I fell in love with a girl, maybe for the first time. And now I'm home, afloat in indecision.
I fly to Guatemala on Wednesday. The goal is to sharpen the Spanish skillz. That, of course, is on top of learning German. Ughh, I wish I had had a multilingual nanny.
Quick stats:
178 lbs
5 lbs above cycling weight
18 different life goals
3 days until Guatemala!
10 days at my cabin
5 days at canoing
1 near death experience (read ahead . . . )
